The next round of the 2021 Ginetta GT5 Challenge brought us to Brands Hatch GP with the British GT paddock, this time with spectators as well! Friday practice saw some mixed conditions, meaning Josh felt prepared for all weather conditions across the weekend.
During Qualifying, Josh instantly put his name on the top of the time sheets within the first flying lap, then continued to push even further to claim pole position for Race 2. Josh put in a lap that all his competitors found unbeatable, positioning him on pole for Race 1, and in second place for Race 2.
As race one commenced, Josh achieved a great start on the infamously difficult grid at Brands Hatch due to its downward gradient and proceeded to lead the first few laps. The rest of the race was taken over by multiple safety cars in which he was overtaken under the final safety car, meaning he finished P2 on track, but this was soon amended, and he was given back the win!
Now moving onto Sunday’s races, Josh was hungry to pick up some wins! In Race 1, Josh started on the outside line and was pushed wide into the gravel at the first turn. Re-joining the pack in P5 along with some more safety cars, Josh managed to climb his way back to third place. Starting third for Race 3, Josh did a fast dash away on the line charging him into first place by Turn 2 into druids. While defending from the pack for the first few laps, Josh built up a big enough gap and achieved another win of the weekend, meaning Josh was now leading the championship battle! With Josh going from strength to strength he cannot wait to get back out at the infamous Silverstone GP Circuit for some more high action racing!
